Mail must have a return address ( as defined by the USPS ), including an identifiable last name.The letter(s) inside must be addressed to the inmate on the envelope.The name of the unit where the inmate lives (not required for delivery).Six-digit DOC number, and correct facility address.The mail will be rejected and returned to you at the inmate’s expense. Do not send cash, personal checks or stamps. Correspondence/property for or from a third party is not permitted. Mail must contain only correspondence/property for the addressed individual(s). Limits may be placed on volume, length, content, or source of mail when necessary to maintain safety and security. Posted mail correspondence between inmates and their correspondents is limited to the United States Postal Service (USPS) and the commercial shipping carriers, United Parcel Services (UPS) and FedEx. Inmates are responsible for informing their correspondents of the rules governing inmate mail ( DOC Policy 450.100 ). The Department of Corrections (DOC) has established procedures governing mail to and from inmates that maintain the safety and security.
